I am honored to serve the community of Centralia as principal of Centralia Middle School for the upcoming 2009-2010 school year. Centralia Middle School has historically provided and will continue to provide quality and rigorous academic programs, while maintaining an atmosphere of respect and accountability. The 2009-2010 school year will continue this commitment to educational excellence for all students.
At CMS we believe in an environment sensitive to the unique personal needs of our students. Our mission is to ensure that all students acquire the knowledge and skills needed to be academically successful, motivated learners who value themselves and others. We will achieve this through developmentally appropriate instruction in a safe and nurturing school in partnership with staff, students, parents, and community.
We also believe that success begins by providing our students with a full range of middle school academic classes focusing on Language Arts, Social Studies, Mathematics and Science. In addition to this core curriculum, CMS offers a full range of exploratory and elective opportunities, from Choir, Band, Orchestra, Guitar, Art, Keyboarding, Spanish, French and Family Consumer Science.
Furthermore, Centralia Middle School has a strong sports program that continually turns out many future varsity athletes for both boys' and girls' Centralia High School teams.
In short, Centralia Middle School is truly committed to the motto, "Building a Legacy of Learning."
